We are experienced business operators and investors
Jide Adesoye
Founder & Managing Partner
Since 2011, Jide has held various roles in Finance and Investing, working exclusively with business owners across different industries and geographies to support the growth of their business. Those experiences have deepened his appreciation and respect for entrepreneurs and the immense resilience they demonstrate day in day out.
One theme has remained constant through those interactions: a deep concern for their employees, customers, and local communities and ensuring that they are all well taken care of (even well after a sale). Jide founded Mile-12 with a select group of investors and industry experts precisely to address that concern.
Over the past decade, Jide's experiences in finance and operations have led him to personally living and doing business in 8 countries across Africa, Europe, North America and South America. This has afforded him a unique perspective on business management and growth acceleration.
Jide holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a B.Sc. in Finance and Accounting (Honors) from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Early Life and Personal Interests
Jide spent his earliest formative years in Lagos, Nigeria before relocating to the U.S. at the age of 10, when he settled in the D.C./Maryland area with his family.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Jide’s interest in business crystallized at a very young age - having had direct, first-hand exposure through his parents’ various commercial pursuits.
From observing them manage a small transportation business across West Africa in the 1990s to now building a multinational 3PL business in the U.S. in partnership with the some of the largest shippers in the world (e.g., Maersk, DHL, Hoegh Autoliners, and Grimaldi Lines), Jide understands the importance business plays in society and fully respects the preservation of the founder's legacy.
On a personal note, Jide currently resides in DC with his wife, Sade, and in his spare time, enjoys working his way though autobiographies and documentaries, travelling with his wife, brushing up on his poker skills, and volunteering on boards of organizations whose mission resonate with him (e.g., education access, poverty alleviation, etc.).
